Book in Progress — Part Eight: New beginnings. New Stress

I debated on calling this “Book in Progress vol.2” because I STARTED A NEW BOOK!

And. I. Hate. It.

Not the story itself, exactly. More like I hate the process of writing the first draft. You know, I used to think my least favorite part of the writing process was outlining. Yeah, no. I HATE writing first drafts. HATE!!!

I love editing and revising and slipping in easter eggs and foreshadowing that I can’t do in my first drafts because I’m a pantser.

Anyways I’m calling this project WIP “Spring.” It doesn’t have anything to do with the season that succeeds winter and precedes summer. Nor does it have anything to do with the verb. Or the noun…

I started this book on January 7th and my end goal is April 1st (though, I intend to have it finished by the middle of March).

As some of you may know, I hope to write three books this year, so I am following a strict deadline.

I’m sure you want to know what this book is about.

Well, as you can see from the cover I have shared with you above. It’s about the ocean! I live in the midwest and have never seen the ocean but I’m going with it anyways.

Does anyone else have a specific format for their title page?

I made a very last-minute change to the story so I will need to retrace my steps and rework the outline and then rewrite the first three chapters. Hopefully, that won’t take me long, but in all honesty, it will probably take me the rest of January. This month has been so hectic.

Here’s to a new book!

Thanks a bunch!
