I have got to be the only kid my age who played with paper dolls when they were younger. I nearly forget about them until I was going through Pinterest this morning and came across a lovely printable paper doll dress, It reminded me of the paper dolls I played with when I was younger. Curious, I decided to google it to see if I could find the same set, and lo and behold, I did!
They were Ginghams paper dolls, they have four girls, Carrie, Kate, Sarah, and Becky. Each girl had a color that all their clothes revolved around. All of Carrie’s clothes were blue, Katie’s were pink, Sarah’s was green, and Becky’s were yellow.
I think I had multiple sets ranging from the 1970s to the 1980s. They weren’t brand new, obviously, they were almost fifty years old when I had them, so though I had multiple sets, as I look at pictures now I realize I may have been missing some pieces. I don’t remember very much of the stuff I had but I did my best to find the ones I could remember
This is the ‘at home and at school playbook’. Now, if I remember correctly, this one had the schoolroom, the front yard, the Christmas/living room, a bedroom, and the kitchen. There was also furniture for each room which was one of the fun parts, and some clothes.
I more than sure I had more than this but I can’t recall them well enough to talk about it. I don’t know what happened to these dolls. I wish I still had them, but the last thing I need is more old toys to clutter up the house. I loved these beautiful dolls, I feel like I got to relive a piece of my childhood by writing this post! 😂
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed!
